Big Huge GamesBig Huge Games was an American game development studio based in Timonium, Maryland. Founded in 2000 by a quartet of veteran developers, the studio has been known best over the years for the Rise of Nations real-time strategy franchise (2003-2006); the action-RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (2012); and more recently for the mobile strategy-MMO DomiNations (2015).
Originally-independent, the studio experienced financial troubles and was bought and sold several times over the ensuing years, having been owned by THQ, 38 Studios, and Epic Games, before going defunct for a short time. It was being reformed again as an independent studio by some of the original founders along with new ones, and operated for a few years under that status.
The studio was acquired by Nexon in 2016 and currently remains a subsidiary, with its development focus on mobile strategy games.
